Have you heard of CyberPatriots? Sounds like some kind of Captain America dream team that have cyborg parts to help uphold pride and defend our country, right? Well, no, actually it is a national youth organization program for cyber education. At the center of CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. Last year, The Center for Academic Success competed with three teams and with much success.
CAS has assembled four sub-teams this year as our participation is bursting, consisting of Middle and High School Students that compete for the top placement within our state and region. CyberPatriot teams follow a national curriculum that teaches students about the ins and outs of cyber security. Teams compete on their ability to complete challenges set by the organization based on real threats to our national security.
The goal of the school team is to win at the state and regional level, which will earn our team(s) an all-expenses paid trips to Baltimore, MD for the National Finals Competition. The team will then earn national recognition and earn scholarship money. Teams and individuals on the can compete all along the way. CyberPatriots at CAS is lead by Mr. Dave Dolifka M.Ed. in the field of Educational Technology; his team meets a couple times a week to prep for every competition.
