NOTICE OF INTENT TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR THE 2019-20 21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS (CCLC) GRANT
In accordance with the application instructions from the Arizona Department of Education, the Center for Academic Success, Inc. submits a public notice to the community of Cochise County its intent to apply for the 2019-20 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Grant for public schools to be served in the aforementioned areas.
The purpose of the 21st CCLC Program, as described in federal statute, is to provide opportunities for communities to establish or expand activities that focus on:
- Improving academic achievement of students
- Enrichment activities and services that reinforce and complement the academic program, and
- Active and meaningful opportunities for adult family members of students to engage in their children’s education.
The deadline for the application is May 6, 2019.

Calling All Volunteers or Sponsors
CAS is seeking an interested parent or community member who would like to be our high school after school club coach fort CyberPatriots. The CyberPatriots is a program where students learn the fundamentals of cyber network security and compete nationally and internationally in competitions. There is also a chance to offer the club in the Middle school as an afterschool program. The volunteer(s) would need to have an IVP fingerprint card (or be eligible to receive one). Those interested in heading up our CyberPatiots program should contact Mr. Oh! at jeff.ofstedahl@cpic-cas.org.
The CAS High School Engineering program is looking for corporate sponsors to support our competitive Solar GoCart Club. The Solar GoCart program is part of the Racing The Sun competition series. Racing the Sun is a solar go-kart competition for high school students. Designed as a STEEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Math), the competition uses solar energy as the organizing technology. We also are seeking parent volunteers who have automotive mechanics or electrical experience.
